Scripture: Ephesians 4:4-6

  1. One God—The shema (Deuteronomy 6:4)
    1. שְׁמַ֖ע יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ יְהוָ֥ה ׀ אֶחָֽד׃
    2. The central confession of the Jewish people—Set them apart from the rest of the world
    3. 1 Timothy 1:17—What a list of attributes! And so He’s worthy of glory and honor
    4. Exodus 20:3—God is worthy of all praise, and so He doesn’t want to share it with anyone else
    5. Revelation 14:6, 7—Fear God and give Him glory
      1. v. 7: “And he cried with a mighty voice, Revere God and give Him glory (honor and praise in worship), for the hour of His judgment has arrived. Fall down before Him; pay Him homage and adoration and worship Him Who created heaven and earth, the sea and the springs (fountains) of water” (Amplified).
